This is a very clear, stereo recording - high quality indeed. A child's is a little lumpen but this does have some different lyrics after the instrumental interlude, which might have been in an oblique reference to his marriage ending. Possibly. I suspect this was John easing into performing with a band...some of it is stilted at first. On the other hand I'm Waiting for the man and Pablo Picasso work very well, despite the former having a shaky ending - the latter really rocks. As does Fear! Certainly from Pablo Picasso onwards the band are in a good and strong, tough even, groove. Guts for instance seems to have more spark than the album version, the latter petered out for me a little, John keeps the fury going here.

The show ends on a cover of Baby What you want me to do, which rocks and swings finely - not the first thing (or last, to be pedantic, as it's the final number) you'd expect from John, but it's really good anyway. The led guitar, from Chris Spedding, almost brings to mind Canned Heat.

This was originally shared from two different FM sources - an original full broadcast, and a further short broadcast with a different mix. Darling I need you was from a third source, the details of which I have not kept - however to me it sounded the same as the first source (the lineages of the sources 1 and 2 appear directly above in this description).

The levels were decreased on this to give it a little headroom / room to breathe, as the peaks had been cut off in the original torrents - I do find it odd that that torrent sites will not tolerate lossy recordings, but at the same time cutting the peaks off and compressing them, like the "loudness wars" all over again, is rarely questionned.

From Dain Baird's opening proclaimation, "Hey, we're in god damn England!", this is one smokin' show. This A++ FM broadcast is possibly the best live Georgia Satellites I've ever heard. I don't know if this was their first show of the tour or their first festival or what, but they are ON FIRE!! If you don't download anything else, get track 5, "I Just Want to Make Love to You". (It's also worth it just to hear Dan Baird's
comments between songs.)

This 40 minute tape is kind of short, but for a new band at a major festival, this is likely the whole show.

None of this has been officially released, even though it should have been. Three songs from a May 15 show at the London's Town & Country Club were used on a couple of Japanese EPs, but this Reading show is clean.

An excellent quality soundboard from the 1982 tour that appears to be under-circulated. This one ran extremely slow and took a major correction to get to the proper pitch. It was also just a touch flat and I've widened the stereo spectrum to give the highs a little more headroom and I think it really shines.

A little context around the timing of the show, James mentions that he had been in Martha's Vineyard earlier in the day to bury his good friend John Belushi. Maybe it's my imagination but there seems to be just a little extra emotional edge to the songs on this night.

Venue was not identified but may be the Sportatorium which appears to host most of the bigger shows at the time which James surely would have been considered a big show.

De nuevo muchas gracias Pablo. ¿Cómo pasas los conciertos al Reel?, ¿lo conectas al ampli como si fuera un Tape player/recorder y vas grabando conforme se reproduce aunque "no se escuche nada al tener el volumen del ampli "a 0"? o... ¿tienes un DAC específico y directo al Reel?. Durante bastantes años me grababa cassettes para el coche desde el reproductor CD>amplificador (Tape rec / in) o desde plato>amplificador (Tape); supongo (igual es mucho suponer) que con un Reel será igual....

Bill Graham s Fillmore East Last Three Nights, featuring major artists; Albert King, J. Geils Band, Edgare Winter, Mountain, the Beach Boys, Allman Brothers Band, June 1971. The Fillmore East opened in Manhattan in March 1968. Over the next three years it hosted almost every major rock artist of the era, as well as giants of soul, blues, folk, gospel and jazz. Bill Graham decided to close it in June 1971, but before doing so he assembled a remarkable 3-day bill featuring some of the most iconic and influential acts in America, spanning pop (the Beach Boys), blues (Albert King), rock n roll (the J. Geils Band, Edgar Winter, Mountain, the Allman Brothers Band) and folk (Country Joe McDonald a nod towards the venue s psychedelic roots). Presented here is the the entire WNEW-FM broadcast of these historic closing shows, together with background notes and images. 4CD Set.

Con la legislación europea (que considera las emisiones de radio.. LIBRES) cualquiera de nosotros se "monta un sello discográfico (p.e. "Por La Patilla Records") y se pone a vender CDs y Vinilos de emisiones radiofónicas. Por eso se encuentran (o al menos se encontraban hasta que abandoné Madrid a principios de 2020) CDs y Vinilos "bootlegs-no-bootlegs-EUROPEOS) en El Corte Inglés o la FNAC, a porrillo...... todos eran/son de "Por La Patilla Records".... amparados (en ECI o la FNAC no-son-tontos) por la legislación europea, a la que me acojo.... pero yo no hago caja.

La mesas de mezcla (Soundboards) ya son más "jodidas" si se quiera hacer "negocio gris" con ellas.......

Respecto al Fillmore East Last 3 Nights, a mis efectos eliminaré a la J.Geils Band, Edgard Winter y Mountain y me quedaré (en mi archivo personal) con Alber King, Beach Boys, Country Joe y los Allman.



Mañana domingo "me lo tomo libre".... nos vemos el lunes.

Reproduzco cada concierto a la vez que lo grabo con el RtR, como dices, modo TAPE en el previo. Pruebas previas de señal máxima, etc y luego de un tirón. El primero ha sido Bob Marley And The Wailers Ahoy Hallen, Rotterdam, Holland 1978-07-07. Sí lo oigo a la vez que grabo, eso sí, el volumen del ampli no interfiere en el de grabación. El DAC Denon DA-300USB lo tenía solo con el ApleTV con cable óptico, he dejado ahora un cable USB para ir pasando los conciertos poco a poco.

Desde hace ¿15-17? años (me pierdo en el tiempo) el Foobar2000 es mi referencia en gestión de audio en/con PC, he probado otros y siempre he vuelto al amigo Foo.... no necesito "virguerías extras, only sound"....

Me he quedado con ganas de "cerrar círculo" y lo hago......

Opinión personal: -3 dBs en Audaciy (hay que hacerlo archivo por archivo) no vendrían nada mal (la voz resaltará), de todas formas Pearl Jam "son así"..... "contundentes en los bajos"....

Ahora con Nina Simone, ESPECTACULAR TOMA. Por cierto me encanta la información del origen, proceso, etc hasta llegar al flac.

Hoy hemos tenido "fiestecilla" en casa, me voy al sobre..... dejo esto para "un amanecer sudafricano con Mama Africa"
