leyendo un poco por el for he visto este hilo.... comentaros que he pillado un Onix dna 45
Me ha picado la curiosidad y me lo he pillado, vamos a ver como suena el chikitin.....
Cuando llegue, ya comentaré un poquito mis impresiones......

No sabía que Brady estaba en exposure. Habrá q escuchar algo de esa marca. Los onix antiguos tenían mucha fama.

ya me estaba impacientando.... desde el dia 29 que lo compré....ni un aviso, ni un mail, nada.... estaba acojonado, pensando que me la habian pegado y me quedaba sin ampli.... Ya me quedé más aliviado...y me dió muy buena impresión....

Estoy seguro y convencido, de que he hecho una muy buena compra....

Si lo que buscan es el grandioso Onix Audio de los años 80 , es decir Onix cuando era de UK y fabricaba una maravilla de ampli llamado el OA21, debes buscar en Google el fabricante Onix - DNA. Ellos fabrican ahora el DNA-50 etc. que siguen en la linea de antes. Nada que ver con el Onix Audio de hoy taiwanes.
Por este no quiero decir nada negativo del Onix Audio taiwanes, que no lo he oido pero como es logico es mas barato y enfocado hacia otros compradores menos "tierra plana".

Ese A60 pertenece a una etapa intermedia entre el furor de la época de los OA20 y OA21, mención especial también para el tremendo sintonizador BWD1, y la aparición de los últimos Onix que nada tenían que ver con los aparatos firmados en Brighton por Brady y su socio fundador. Hablo de la época que se inauguró allá por el 96 ya en Taiwan, sin los fundadores al mando pero a través de un fan italiano de la marca, inversor, respetando en cierto modo el sello del sonido Onix.... Ojo, que los Onix como el rb125 es un un pepinazo, aunque no sea "reconocido" por los amantes de onix.... Pero suena a Onix sin duda.

Ese A60, llegó a España de la mano de Jamo, Importador en exclusiva para España en esos años de esos Onix A60 así como productos como Proton. Si la memoria no me falla, ese A60 allá por 1998 valía en España unas 125.000 ptas y era una auténtica ganga en función de sus prestaciones y precio. Eran tiempos de las.190.000 ptas del musical Fidelity a3, de las 185.000 0tas del densen beat 100mk2,de las 300.000 del. Electrocompaniet eci 3....

El "bastado" ra125, que conozco creo que bien, es una copia del antiguo OA120. Tenidndo en cuenta que el OA60 era un OA120 a escala, creo que pierde ser una compra realmente magnífica, más por el precio al que se pueden conseguir y además porwue es electronics de toda la vida, reparable hasta el infinito y muy fácil de meterle mano.

Por cierto, en esa moda de los amplis británicos tamaño "caja de zapatos", tipo Naim Nait 1 o el Mission  Cyrus One, posiblemente fue el onix OA20 el primero en irrumpir con esa "moda", aunque dicho formato lo hiciesen popular Naim y Cyrus, con volúmenes de venta inalcanzables para la legendaria Onix en el Brighton de los 80....."we're the mods!" 




El ampli estaba guapísimo, luciendo ese led british green racing y esos potes que inspiraron la famosa estética de los.integrdsos clásicos densen, después de que Sillesen fuese el Importsdor de onix para Dinamarca durante una década. 

Para los amantes de Onix, ilusionados por la vuelta del sello original bajo las órdenes de su cofundador en la década de los 80, Adam worsfold, y bajo el bautizo de Onix DNA, quizás a alguien le interese. Alude a la versión a escala del inaugural DNA50, es decir, el DNA45:

I am celebrating another year on this planet on Friday , I am in Asia returning to the UK on Wednesday . I have so far had a great life , long may it continue. I love my country , I love music and what it gives us.

I just bought an OA31CT - I think from after Adam’s time, but still a very well built amp - bought it with a faulty AUX1 connection...fault is that an MC card is attached to AUX1  Is an OA21E (series 3) phono board MM or MC? Earlier series 2 boards always used to specify, this one doesn’t.

Thanks for the positive response ....It's great so many people still enjoy what made us who we are .

Think about it.. not a single UK built ONIX AMP or ONIX product was ever made without the transformer being made or designed by Terry Monahan now of Canterbury windings . We have used the same person for every transformer ever used in an real ONIX product for over 35 years .

We are really British let's give Terry a thumbs up for his contribution to HI Fi . Inside every UK ONIX but rarely acknowledged .

Could you explain what the sonic differences are along the DNA models from the base level 45 to the 50U?

I don't particularly need another amp at the moment but at that price it seems to good to ignore so I've ordered one. My thinking is that it'll be an excellent alternative to the Audio Note Oto in my living room system. The speakers I use there work well with a low powered valve amp but did also sound great when they were being used with my Krell integrated, so I think they'll also sound great with the DNA.

Once I get it I'll run it in my study system (temporarily replacing the Krell and into some Wilson Benesch Square One's which seem to like power) and also in my living room system into the Triangles I use there.

If I got that right the promo is £700 for the non vinyl one/100w, 850 with RC.

That seems outstanding value, especially compared to Rega's upcoming top amp at 3 grand.

Thanks, my old mate Jack Daniels will be helping ..

To keep costs down I made the Phone Stage and the remote an option .. The remote is 100% made by us, every single part. It actually costs alot to make so it has suited some to buy later.

Likewise the Phono stage is an option. The DNA range has a phono line out always active , that if desired can be connected to a sub but it would require some kind of low pass filter in the sub unit .. I would however say I doubt you need a sub.. but I guess its an option .

I use an active sub in my room from time to time but as not all of my amps have a sub output I wired a Neutrik cable into my normal speaker cables so I could use it (via the high level inputs) with any amp.

Al igual que Naim hiciese en el pasado, década de los 80, principios de los 90,con aquellas series Olive, en la que presumían de ejecución 100 british, empezando por los legendarios trafos Holden & Fisher..... ONIX DNA presume de esos mismos detalles ahora en la época del Brexit, contexto perfecto para este tipo de reivindicaciones. En el caso de Onix DNA, anuncian su absoluta ejecución británica, partiendo de los trafos ejecutados desde sus inicios por Terry Monaghan, personaje que desee 2006 firma sus transformadores bajo la etiqueta de Canterbury windings....empresa cuyo tamaño es antagónico al gigante danés Noratel, pero que precisamente por eso atesora muchas de las buenas costumbres perdidas en grandes volúmenes de producción.

Por fin llegó el chikitin.... vaya cacharro! Reducido en dimensiones pero solido como una roca, muy bien construido, peso bastante... Muy bonito, muy buenos acabados... Cuelgo unas fotos...
Ya contaré un poco mis impresiones sobre su sonido y comportamiento.... A bote pronto, y por lo poquito que he podido oir, puedo decir que de potencia va sobradísimo, que imprime un carácter rítmico a la música muy en la línea de Naim, con una zona media clara y transparente ( mas que el densen por ejemplo) y con unos agudos muy transparentes, las cajas suenan mas brillantes y claras por arriba que con el densen, por ejemplo. Sonido en general muy alegre, rápido y rítmico...
Las voces suenan muy bien, aunque no tan naturales o agradables como con el densen , entiendo que el rodaje ha de hacer su recorrido y con unas cuantas horas todo ira cuadrando y redondeándose...
Pero en general, y para los precios en los que nos movemos, excelente relación calidad precio.
