Hola,

draftervoi's notes:
Hans de Vente digitized his FM recording of a Todd Rundgren 1977-11-11 show from a Dutch radio station in the Summer of 2014. There was already a circulating version of a tape recorded by Dan Lampinski from an American radio station. Hans' tape has better audio quailty, but the first song cuts in during the first chorus, the start is missing.

The two versions also seems to have slightly different ambience; Hans tape has slightly wider stereo separation (to my ears...).

I chaptered and normalized Hans' tracks and did some other minor editing (removed a few pops, made the between song edits less jarring by getting the volume levels closer to each).

Todd and the Hello People
The Roxy
May 23rd, 1978

source: FM > ? > CDR > EAC > FLAC

First nationwide simulcast of a concert transmitted via microwave.  This show is the Roxy portion of the Back to the Bars (BTTB) album, unedited.  Classic show with Todd pouring his heart out, he's really hitting his stride. Set list: Real Man, It Wouldn't..., Love of the Common Man, Lady Face (rare - only performed live), Love In Action, Never Neverland, You Cried Wolf (with Wolfman Jack), Range War (with Spencer Davis), Bread, Can We Still Be Friends, Black Maria, Don't You Ever Learn, Sometimes I Don't Know What To Fell (with Hall & Oates), Black and White (GREAT version), A Dream Goes On Forever, I'm So Proud Medley, Eastern Intrigue and Initiation (with Kasim Sultan), Couldn't I  Just Tell You.  Also includes the whole encore which was totally cut out of BTTB - Hello It's Me (which feature Stevie Nicks singing harmony with Todd which was totally cut from BTTB), Hang On Sloopy, She's Gone, and Just One Victory.  It's cool to hear wghat happens after Todd says "It's sing along night for the Woodstock generation" at the end of BTTB.  Excellent quality.  This is the best quality I've heard of this show and was made from a master cassette from FM.  Sound quality is fairly clear and features great bass punch, highs are a bit rolled-off but seem to improve as the show moves along.  J Hananvan CD."

Here's another Rundgren show that has never been on the TTD tracker.
Billed as the "Indochinese Refugee Concerts." This event had several big names involved.
Blue Oyster Cult, Todd Rundgren headlined the event.
Former New York Doll's frontman David Johansen (The Johansen Group)
and guitarist Rick Derringer (who had just finished his own show over at 'My Father's Place')
Todd introduces Meat Loaf at the beginning of track 11. Mr Loaf joins in on 2 songs.
Funny enough that 'Johnny B. Goode' is dedicated to John Denver, not sure why.

The bonus material is from the late show.  We have Rick Derringer on guitar joining in.
We also have David Johansen doing 'Funky But Chic' and 'Frenchette'.
Along with Blue Oyster Cult performing a 9 song set, we only get 2 of those songs here.
'Stairway To The Stars' and 'Don't Fear The Reaper'.

Quite a cool selection of artists and songs here.

I had never heard any of this umtil now.

There was an unexpected tape cut during 'Black Maria' @ 1:26.  a small portion is missing.

The tape flip was between tracks 10 and 11.

Thanks to BR for the tapes.

Enjoy

George
