Rory Gallagher - siete selecciones / conciertos - FMs europeas Empty Rory Gallagher - siete selecciones / conciertos - FMs europeas

Mensaje  Scarletbegonias Dom 21 Jul 2024 - 18:05

Hola,

Rory Gallagher - Paris Theatre London 1971-72

These are two BBC recordings captured at the Paris Theatre in London. The first set has tracks 1 to 6 and is from
August 1971, and the second with tracks 7 to 13 is from January 1972.
The DJ introduces each track and Rory as we would expect plays wonderfully both the electric and the acoustic stuff
(on 2 tracks).

Rory Gallagher
Alternate BBC Sessions
London
1971-1974
Source: See Notes
Lineage: CD See Notes
Taped by: See Notes
Transfered by: GKlainer
Additional Notes:
Received these from a trader in the UK around 1992 that was affiliated with the BBC. He claims all were from his masters that he recorded himself, making them 1st gen. copies. Gklainer transferred these from the original cassettes to .wav files in 1998, and recorded the XM broadcast early last year. The estate of Rory Gallagher released "BBC SESSIONS" in 1999, and placed some of the original tracks from this set on this release. Those 5 tracks have been removed, along with 5 other tracks from 1971 and 1972 originally recorded that were either mono or had sound problems.  The removed tracks have been replaced with the entire BBC Broadcast from 1/7/72 that was transferred from vinyl. So kick back and listen to a great sounding, dynamic selection of early songs from RORY GALLAGHER. 8/12/71- XM>DAT>CDWAVE>CD>EAC>FLAC

Rory GALLAGHER french broadcasts (1977-1994) from FM masters FLAC

This is a collection of FM masters recordings i have from Rory's performances thru the years.
(First upload from my sources).

1977: a jam recorded in Montreux festival, broadcasted on France Musique.
This track (01) is not included in the official CD / DVD releases.

1982: on march 1982, Rory made a "Paris tour", playing several shows in the area.
On march 8th he did 2 shows at the Paris Olympia; i remember i recorded the first and
Phil (finkployd49) went to the second (making a recording too as well as he did in Melun).
A portion of the second set was broadcasted on Radio 7 (02-08). We have the great "What in the world" here.
I added a track (09) recorded on TV from the Orleans show (same tour, on marh 10th).

1986: the tracks (10-15) were broadcasted on RTL, they came from the Casino de Paris show played
on may 12th.

1994: on october 17th Rory played acoustic for the Europe 1 "Top Live" radio show (16-19).
At the end of the session, he joined another guest of the day (the Au petit bonheur band) for a jam.
On this track we can hear Jamel, the singer, saying proudly something like "hey mum,
it's me with Rory on the radio".

Transfers: cassettes played on Marantz SD 4051 deck to ZOOM H4, card to PC, Audacity editions, FLAC.

Excellent sound except may be for the only TV track.

Notes:
a - Additional "Big Guns" track note: These two versions are very similar & are hard to tell the difference, at times. I'm leaving the edited notes on the tracks, as I received them that way.
b - Oh, did I mention that you do not want to miss downloading this? Actually I prefer a well balanced & recorded audience source. I feel it just gives a better atmosphere to the recording. Some SBD recordings are too raw & not mixed that well. This SBD recording is clean & mixed well. I also prefer Rory's era with the De'Ath & Martin line-up, along with the energy of the band from then, so I'm a bit biased at time .... but to me, Rory is Rory!!
